The use by date is the date by which the product should be
consumed to ensure consumer safety. Providing the product
has been stored as per its stated storage conditions and the
packaging has remained intact, then the product should be
safe to consume. Eating the foodstuff beyond its use-by date
may put the health of the consumer at risk.
It is not to be confused with Best-before date, which relates
more to the quality of the product rather than the safety
of the product.
